Enjuu Aid ‘s aim is to reach out to as many people that are living below the poverty line in order to restore hope to particularly under privileged women, children, the elderly and physically challenged individuals.
On 30th October the Enjuu Aid team together with that of the Enjuu Mission Safaris managed to visit Ransom Pentecostal Ministries founded by Pastor Vincent Kitagende Kyakonye in Kasana-Nakifuma County; 10 kilometers off Kalagi-Kayunga road.
The church has over 100 congregants comprising mostly of single mothers and widows. Pastor Vincent supports over 50% of his congregation of them as
majority are living below the poverty line.
Survived by his wife and six daughters Pastor Vincent is also a teacher and farmer. When he is not busy visiting his flock and engaging in charity work to ensure their sustenance. He is either teaching in Bible College or on his farm where he gets food to feed both his family and some of the members of his church. The most notable character about Pastor Vincent his order. When the team from Enjuu visited we noticed how he had lists of members of his congregation both the young and the adults.
Ransom Pentecostal Ministries also doubles as a vocational training center training tailors. Young people are taught how to make clothes and in turn leverage the skill to make some money. Currently the church has about 10 sewing machines and could use some more to enable them skill more people than they are already doing.
Before Covid-19 hit and affected the economy, the tailoring vocational school run by the Pastor’s wife and a few out sourced teachers had 32 students. As a result of the pandemic tis number has reduced to 10 students as of 30th October 2021. This is because a lot of the parents couldn’t afford to financially support children to continue pursuing the course.
Majority of the school leavers and young people in this community are actively involved in agriculture which is also the backbone for survival in this community. They travel from their homes on a daily to go sell produce to neighboring villages. This way some of the young people are able to fend for their families.
During the visit, both teams ( Enjuu Mission Safaris and Enjuu Aid) were able to share a meal with the church congregation, visit some of the homes of the elderly, listen to their stories as and provide them with some of their most basic needs such as food and sanitary products.
We are committed to ensuring that the lives of the people in this community are transformed in remarkable ways in the subsequent visits. Many thanks to Enjuu Mission Safaris for the great work done.
